Member Associations

The Member Associations in Australia and New Zealand represents podiatry to local government and the community at large. They provide a range of services for members to enhance professional competence and improved standards of practice. Some of these services or programs include:

Services provided by the Australian Podiatry Association (APodA SA)

Since 1933 the South Australian Podiatry Association Association has been providing members with valuable resources that enhance professional status and enable continued growth and success.  The South Australian Association represents over 200 members and student members.  The major objective of the Association is to promote, support and provide education opportunities to the Podiatry Profession in our state. 

By joining the Association, members are supporting their professional body which inturn supports them. It's through membership that the Australian Podiatry Association and Australasian Podiatry Council can represent the profession across Australia and New Zealand.  Some recent advancements include:

  • Patient rebates through Medicare (EPC scheme) and the Department of Veteran Affairs

Accredited Podiatrists

An Accredited Podiatrist is a title used by a Podiatrist that has successfully completed the Accredited Podiatrist Program run through the Podiatry Association. The program is designed to record the ongoing professional development completed by the podiatrist in their endeavours to further their knowledge, skill and experience in the field of podiatry. Only Members of the Podiatry Association are entitled to participate in the Accredited Podiatrist Program.

To find an Accredited Podiatrist visit the website www.findapodiatrist.org. The accredited podiatrist logo will appear next to the podiatrists' name to indicate their accreditation status.
